Every time I would travel with MIMA I would witness degrees of poverty that most Westerners probably never get a chance to see. I had never personally seen such destitution until I began working with the organization. I remember thinking to myself after the third or fourth trip, "You've seen this stuff before, it's not like it's the first time you've seen these conditions, why does it still seem to bother you so much?" I couldn't come up with any real good answer. I just know that it always affects me deeply. My hunch is that it is God tapping me on the shoulder and asking me to do more than get on the plane and head home until the next visit. Truly, so little goes so very far.
